Vanishing Point to Vanishing Point
An 18-mile walk, north to south, along the full length of Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Walking from an approximated vanishing point to vanishing point, I recorded my movements using a drawing machine, mounted on my back, in red and black ink.The drawing machine consists of a ink stylus mounted to a free-moving, wheeled, mechanism that rolls across the paper's surface to generate a drawing For each vanishing point, I created a new drawing.
The six resulting drawings, landscape drawings, are a documentation of the landscape and my movements through it.
